Attorney Audrey Youssef Botros

In August 2000, Audrey Botros joined the Law Office of Saher Macarius LLC as a full-time attorney. Attorney Botros obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from Tufts University and earned her Juris Doctor law degree from New England Law in May 2000. As the daughter of immigrants, Attorney Botros has a comprehensive knowledge of the immigration process from both a personal and legal perspective.

Attorney Botros specializes in all aspects of immigration law, including appellate work, employment-based visas, religious visas, labor certification, asylum, special immigrant juvenile and family-based visas. Attorney Botros has extensive experience in the appellate processes including representing clients and briefing before the Board of Immigration Appeals, Circuit Courts, U.S. Supreme Court and Massachusetts Federal District Court. Attorney Botros has successfully reopened and remanded cases from the Board of Immigration Appeals and Circuit Courts, thereby vacating removal orders and allowing adjustment of status.

On December 5, 2022, Attorney Botros represented the Coptic Orthodox Church and successfully argued before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court in the matter of Church of the Holy Spirit of Wayland vs. Marilyn J. Heinrich, et al., [SJC-13326]. Arguments were made to reverse a decision made by the Appellate Court which would recognize a new common law right for perpetual interment on the Coptic Orthodox Church’s newly acquired property and thereby intervene in the ecclesiastical and constitutional rights of the churches involved.

Attorney Botros and Attorney Macarius were instrumental in the First Circuit reversal of its original decision in Chedad on December 16, 2008, agreeing with the argument that filing a motion to reopen incorporates a withdrawal of voluntary departure. This precedent decision allowed many future immigrants to adjust status. In Da Silva Neves v. Holder, 613 F.3d 30, 33 (1st Cir. 2010), they successfully challenged the First Circuit Court’s denial of jurisdiction to hear the case, filing a Writ of Certiorari with the United States Supreme Court, which remanded the case to the First Circuit Court of Appeals for further proceedings. This case has been cited as legal precedent in the renowned immigration legal resource, Kurzban’s Immigration Law Sourcebook.

Attorney Botros has extensive knowledge of the real estate process in buying and selling homes and is a licensed Real Estate Broker in Massachusetts. Prior to obtaining her legal degree, she worked at Stone & Webster Engineering Corporation for six years as an Architectural Designer.
