Audrey Youssef Botros
In August 2000, Audrey Botros joined the Law Office of Saher Macarius LLC as a full time attorney. Attorney Botros obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Tufts University. Prior to obtaining her legal degree, she worked at Stone & Webster Engineering Corporation for six years as an Architectural Designer. Thereafter, she graduated from New England Law and earned her Juris Doctor law degree in May 2000. As the daughter of immigrants, Attorney Botros has a comprehensive knowledge of the immigration process from both a personal and legal perspective.
Attorney Botros specializes in all aspects of immigration law, including employment based visas, religious visas, labor certification, asylum, and family based visas. Attorney Botros has extensive experience in the appellate processes including representing clients and briefing before the Board of Immigration Appeals, Circuit Courts, U.S. Supreme Court and Massachusetts Federal District Court. Attorney Botros has successfully reopened and remanded cased from the Board of Immigration Appeals and Circuit Courts, thereby vacating removal orders and allowing adjustment of status.
Attorney Botros and Attorney Macarius were instrumental in the First Circuit reversal of its original decision in Chedad on December 16, 2008, agreeing with the argument that filing a motion to reopen incorporates a withdrawal of voluntary departure. This precedent decision allowed many future immigrants to adjust status. In Da Silva Neves v. Holder, 613 F. 3d 30, 33 (1st Cir. 2010) successfully challenged the First Circuit Court’s denial of jurisdiction to hear his case. Attorney Macarius and Attorney Botros filed a Writ of Certiorari with the United States Supreme Court who remanded the case to the First Circuit Court of Appeals for further proceedings. This case has been cited as legal precedent in the renown immigration legal resource, Kurzban’s Immigration Law Sourcebook. Attorney Botros has extensive knowledge of the real estate process in buying and selling homes and is a licensed Real Estate Broker in Massachusetts. Attorney Botros has been admitted to the Massachusetts Bar, the First Circuit Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of the United States of America. She reads conversational French and understands conversational Arabic [Egyptian Dialect].
